Terms of service

The agreement between your organization and Signifier when you use the app. Short, in plain words, and the same for everyone.

Last updated October 25, 2026

The agreement

These terms are a contract between [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] (“Signifier”, “we”) and the organization that creates an account (“you”). By creating an account or connecting a Google Workspace, you agree to them on behalf of your organization and confirm you are allowed to do that.

The privacy policy explains what we do with data and is part of this agreement.

What Signifier does

Signifier lets your organization design email signature templates, fill them in from your Google Workspace directory, add them to people’s Gmail settings, schedule banners, and count clicks. Features may change over time; we will not remove something essential without notice.

Signifier works with Google Workspace. It is not made or endorsed by Google, and your use of Google Workspace stays subject to Google’s own terms.

Accounts and admins

The person who connects Google Workspace must be an administrator of that Workspace. Your organization is responsible for who it makes an admin, editor or viewer in Signifier, and for what those people do. Keep sign-in details private and tell us straight away if you think an account has been misused.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Signifier to:

  • put content in signatures that is unlawful, misleading, or infringes someone else’s rights;
  • send spam, or track recipients in ways the law does not allow;
  • impersonate another person or organization;
  • probe, overload or interfere with the service, or try to reach data that is not yours;
  • resell the service or use it to build a competing one by copying it.

You are responsible for the content of your templates and banners, including logos and images, and for having the right to use them.

Your data

Your templates, your directory data and your click counts belong to you. You give us permission to process them only to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy. We process personal data in your directory on your instructions, as your processor; where the law requires a data processing agreement, ours is available on request from [CONTACT EMAIL] and forms part of these terms.

You can export your templates and delete your account at any time. After deletion we remove your data on the schedule set out in the privacy policy.

Plans and payment

Prices and plan limits are on the pricing page. There is a free plan for small teams; paid plans are billed monthly or annually, in advance, by card, with no minimum term beyond the period you have paid for. Prices do not include VAT or sales tax, which is added where it applies.

If a payment fails we will tell you and try again. If it keeps failing, we may move your organization to the free plan after [NUMBER OF DAYS] days. We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice; changes apply from your next renewal.

Availability and support

We aim to keep Signifier available at all times and tell you about planned maintenance in advance. We do not promise a particular uptime on the free plan. Support is by email at [CONTACT EMAIL].

Our intellectual property

Signifier, its software, design and name belong to us. These terms give you a right to use the service, not ownership of it. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the service without obligation to you.

Warranties and liability

We provide Signifier with reasonable care and skill. Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, the service is provided as it is, and we do not promise it will be error-free or fit for a particular purpose.

As far as the law allows, neither side is liable to the other for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability under this agreement in any twelve months is limited to the amount you paid us in those twelve months, or [MINIMUM AMOUNT] on the free plan. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using Signifier and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or end an account if these terms are broken, if the account is used in a way that risks other customers or the service, or if a paid plan goes unpaid, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it. When the agreement ends, the sections on data, intellectual property, liability and law continue to apply.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For changes that matter, we will tell admins by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Signifier after that date means you accept them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any rights consumers have under local law.
